Project status
Current development is on the ZODB 3.7 line.
The ZODB 3.6 line corresponds to the Zope 3.2 and Zope 2.9 lines, and is in bugfix mode (no new features, but bugfix releases are made as needed).
The ZODB 3.5 line corresponds to the Zope 3.1 line, and is also in bugfix mode.
The ZODB 3.4 line corresponds to the Zope 2.8 line, and is also in bugfix mode.
The ZODB 3.2 line corresponds to the Zope 2.7 line, and is retired (no new releases in the 3.2 line are planned).
The ZODB 3.3 line corresponds to an early Zope X3 release, and is also retired.
The ZODB 3.1 line corresponds to the Zope 2.6 line, and is also retired.

I cannot get ZODB 3.6 to install with Python 2.5 on Windows XP
Is any newer release planned soon to support Python 2.5?
