If you use ZEO (Zope Enterprise Objects), this is the directory where the ZEO (Zope Enterprise Objects) storage server keeps the ZODB (Zope Object Database) and log files. Similar to INSTANCE_HOME in layout.
I may have made this name up. It might also be called ZEO_HOME.
